Technical Track 18: Photonics and Optoelectronic Devices of 2D Materials


Two dimensional (2D) materials are emerging "new star" in nanoscale science and technology. Owing to the unusual light-matter interactions in 2D materials, they exhibit many novel optical and photoelectric properties, such as nonlinear light absorption, light modulation (amplitude, phase and polarisation), photo-electrical conversion, wave-guiding and polaritonic behaviours, and thus have dramatic application potential in optical communication systems. This track dealing with preparation, photonic and optoelectronic device issues of 2D Materials. Its aim is to allow the participants to benefit from progress, challenges and future prospects described. This track will give an overview of photonic and optoelectronic device applications based on these optical phenomena in 2D materials.
